An Alternative to Fish Oil for Essential Fatty Acids

Flaxseed oil is a rich source of essential omega 3 fatty acids which have been found to offer various beneficial health-related properties within the body.  Alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) is found in abundance in flaxseed oil and is the foundation of the beneficial omega 3 fatty acid. eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA).  Flaxseed oil also contains omega 6 fatty acids which like ALA and omega 3 fatty acids, have been widely researched, particularly in relation to heart health.

Not only is Simply Supplements Flaxseed Oil a suitable alternative to fish oils for those who find fish and fish oils unpalatable, it is also a high potency source of omega 3 fatty acids, containing around twice as much omega 3 fatty acids per gram as fish oil. Omega 3 is increasingly receiving huge media attention with some finding that taking a daily supplement of omega 3 may help to support the maintenance of normal heart, brain and joint function.
