    Perfect for bonfire night
    Tim, Bury
After reading the previous reviews, I thought I'd try giving these to our German Shepherd for bonfire night. In previous years she has been very skittish and anxious at the sound of fireworks, but these tablets really seemed to help. I added a tablet to her dinner for three weeks leading up to bonfire night, and she remained calm and relaxed throughout. Will definitely try these again in the future.

    It works!
    Sharon Webley, Rochester
Yesterday (New Year's Eve) the fireworks started going off about 6pm. I wasn't ready for them that early and Kicker (my Border Collie) panicked even though they were quite far away and the noise wasn't loud. When I fed him at 7.30pm, I put some of these calming pills in his dinner and it obviously worked because when more fireworks went off louder and nearer at midnight, he wasn't bothered at all.

Have been giving my St Bernard 2 of these a day and has worked wonders. Being a large dog I can't have him jumping around at the kids or friends that come over and when bonfire night used to come round he was awful but he was also very scared so quite understandable. These have made a difference and he is much more calm and relaxed.

    Controllable cat!
    Marcus, Liverpool
My cat gets exceedingly nervous around new people, so much so she is prone to wee on the carpet whenever a guest comes round. This formula has really helped to settle her nerves and she is now a friendly, loving cat who will quite happily stay in the same room as visitors now. Thank you, this has really helped settle her.

    Chilled out pups!
    Mark, Warrington
Having 3 labradors running around the house can be a bit of a challenge, especially after introducing the new puppy. This supplement has really helped in keeping them a little calmer and more relaxed, essential with visiting guests and their children. Delivery times could have been a bit quicker, but with the bogof offer they are still good value and a company I would use again.

    Mr Peter Brown, Swindon
My Beagle was an absolute nightmare always got excited far too easily and when bonfire night came he would hide in the cupboard under the stairs and shake as he was so frightened of the fireworks. Last bonfire night he managed to stay in the front room with us with the fireworks going off. Very grateful

    Miss Mary Whittle, Birmingham
These really helped my dog on firework night; he seemed a lot calmer than usual will definitely be using again next year. I started given the tablets to him crushed up in his food about 2 weeks before firework night so that he got the full effect of the supplement and they really seemed to help.

    "Taken that nervous edge away"
    Tricia Wainwright
Wow! I gave these tablets to my Jack Russel, Meg, who is nervous about life! and with the nerves sometimes acts a little aggressive. The first day I must admit she did look a bit "spaced out" but after that WHAT A DIFFERENCE. I would' t say she is a different dog ( she still has the odd grumble!) but it has taken that nervous edge away ( anyone with the same nervous animal will know what I mean) and she is happy! Even my two other dogs aren't has wary of her. With Meg happier it has made us all happier!!

Q: Is this product safe/complimentary to take with Aktivait .... emaild you earlier today ab
A: There should be no problem taking our Calming Formula with Aktivait. Our product contains natural ingredients and are safe taken alongside other pet supplements provided you stick to the recommended daily allowance.

Q: We have a nearly 16 yr old yorkie who we inherited last yr as both my in laws passed away within months of each other. They rescued her at about 4 when her previous owner also died. Molly has always been anxious, skittish and yappy about any sudden movement, noise or other dogs, but over the last 18 months has started biting her tail. We now believe its due to stress although originally the vet treated it for allergies, anal glands etc. The vet has been giving her an inj. and steroid pills but this wk as its bled and swollen he suggested we should make a decision to have the tail amputated due to recurring infection a result from possible foreign body with added daily anxeities contributing to the biting.Obviously we dont want her to suffer. My question is will these pills help her daily (separation?)anxieties therfore resulting in the possibility of not biting the tail. We also have a 6 yr old boxer who she now (never used too)adores so although not entirely alone we keep their walks separate in order for them to have their own time with us. She/they are alone for 3 full days of the wk i go home at lunch hr to toilet and feed them. She's never been alone that long. Although she has option to sleep in another room she chooses to sleep in same room as Floyd. So no probs with him.Dog sitting/rehoming are not an option as she wont go to any1 else but us we have always been her 2nd home. Also does the calming effect last all day? Otherwise she is as fit as the boxer and can soak up as much excercise ie over an hr in 1 go with no ailments at all.
A: There can be a couple of reasons why dogs bite their tails. This could be due to not getting sufficiently stimulated and do not have anything else to chase after or itchy due to fleas or another biting insects. Best thing to do is for your Vet to examine signs of hot spots or redness. However, if you believe that the reason of your dog biting its tail is brought by anxiety then our Calming Formula for pets should help. This supplement is designed to help calm anxious, nervous, and over excited pets. Another thing to try maybe is to get your pet plenty of toys to to play with so she forgets all about biting her tail and calms her down.

Q: Can I give the 'Calming Formula' tabs to my eleven week old flatcoated retriever?
A: For daily use, we normally recommend this product for dogs over two years of age. It is safe to give the Calming Formula to your puppy on an occasional basis when it is most needed.

Q: I have a 2 year old staff cross she is a lovely little dog but is very very hypo she will not sit down at all, the main problem is of a night she will cry whine bark and scratch at the door and almost destroyed it now will this help as she is keeping whole house awake every night.
A: This product is designed to calm nervous, anxious or easily scared pets. Some customers also find that it can be beneficial in calming over excited pets. It's definitely worth a try.
  • 9th September 2013 - Jacque
Q: Do you need to give these over a period of time before they work, or can one be given in the morning in the event of a thunderstorm looming to have affect?
A: This product is suitable for both short-term and long-term use. Although it may not offer its full effects when given in the short-term, it will still be beneficial.
  • 9th September 2013 - Jacque
Q: My 3yr Staffie gets so scared during thunderstorms when on his own, all he wants to do is escape and he will rip off a stair gate to get upstairs and has made holes in 3 doors during his pancic. I think it is more the pressure that thunderstorms give than the noise, so I am wondering if these tablets will help ease him as he over pants with stress also.
A: This product is designed to calm nervous pets that are scared by loud noises such as thunder, so you may find this formula to be beneficial for your Staffie.

Q: We have a colly puppy 4/half months old. At around teatime he gets very excitable and nippy and nothing seems to calm him down. He jumps up and bites back of legs and hands and arms. Most of the day hes quite calm just seems to be early evening hes like this.
    A:

For long-term daily use, we normally recommend this product for dogs over 2 years old. This is because puppies are naturally boisterous and energetic, and during this period training is so important. Giving your puppy calming tablets on a daily basis may mean that you miss vital training opportunities. However, it is perfectly safe to give your puppy our Calming Formula on an occasional basis. I would also recommend speaking to your vet.

  • 16th October 2012 - Samantha Blythe
Q: Can they be taken everyday all the time?
    A:

Yes, the natural ingredients within our Calming Formula tablets are suitable for both short-term and long-term use. We recommend giving your pet 1 tablet per day.

  • 15th October 2012 - Samantha Blythe
Q: I have 2 staffies, a boy nearly 3 and a girl around 1. I have tried everything to calm them down when people come round or the door goes. Would these tablets help???
    A:

We recommend this product to help with anxiety and stress and therefore would certainly recommend this for your older boy. However, as we normally recommend this product for dogs over two years old, this may not be ideal for your 1 year old female. You may find that giving this formula to your male staffie also helps to calm down your younger female. If you would like to give this formula to your female, then we would advise that do so on an occasional basis and you consult with your vet.

  • 7th July 2012 - Steve Mc
Q: I have a 4 month old Parson Jack Russell who has dislodged his rear knee growth plate. Not sufficient to need immediate surgery but vet recommended keeping him inactive for 4 weeks. Keeping him in his cage and only letting him out for food and toileting.
This is proving impossible as we also have an older Parsons, who he sees wandering about and he goes crazy.
Is there any medication which will slow him down a little and make him less active as I would prefer that he heels naturally rather than have an operation at such a young age.
    A:

Although we normally recommend this product for dogs over two years old, in this circumstance you may find our Calming Formula to be beneficial. If your Jack Russell is taking any pain medication, then we would recommend that you first consult with your vet, but there should be no reason that the natural ingredients within this formula should not be beneficial.

Q: I have a Labrador who is just coming up to year old. When walking on the lead she gets very hyper when she sees other dogs and it makes her look as if she is an aggressive dog although she only wants to play. Would theses calming tablets help her. We also have four year old Labrador who is behaved on lead.
    A:

This formula can help to calm over-excited pets, so we would recommend that you give it to your Labrador on an occasional basis, when you think it is most needed. As she is only one year old, we would not advise that you give it to her on a daily basis.

  • 20th May 2012 - lynn
Q: My daughters border collie has gone from a happy off the lead on walks dog to being terrified of most things and we don't know why. Any advice please?
    A:

Your daughter may find this formula to be beneficial in reducing her dogs anxiety when off the lead. We would also advise that you consult with a local vet to ensure that there is no underlying health condition.

  • 30th April 2012 - Alison Howie
Q: how old must your kitten be before you can give him these tablets ?
    A:

This product is herbal based and should therefore be safe regardless of your pet's age. We advise however to consult your veterinarian if you have any doubts.

  • 22nd February 2012 - Shirley Roberts
    Q:

Do you think Calming Formula would help an 18 year old cat who shouts (and I means SHOUTS!!) at random times of day and night?

He seems healthy in all other ways so I assume this is due to dementia.

    A:

We suggest Calming Formula for when pets becomes stressed or over excited. This product may be of benefit to him and it is certainly worth a try; however we would also advise that you consult with your vet just in case there is an underlying problem that requires prescription medication.

Q: i have a 8 month old cat that we got when he was 4 months old. not very friendly. he has lots of toys but still bites us and attacks our feet when we are walking round house. we were told getting another kitten would help but they fight most of the time. i was going to try the Feliway spray to help calm him down until they got used to each other but then i saw your tablets. do you think they will work or am i just wasting my money.
    A:

Our Calming Formula has been shown to help calm cats down during times of stress or endurance, therefore we would certainly recommend this product.

  • 4th February 2012 - finn
Q: Hi. We brought the calming formula tablets. Does my dog need to be on them for a week or so before you can tell if there working? Is it better to give them in the morning or at tea time?
    A:

The longer your dog takes these tablets, the more effective they will be. However, most pet owners find that they can start to take effect within hours. There is no specific time of the day that these tablets need to be consumed.  If your dog seems more anxious during the day when left alone, then give these tablets in the morning. Alternatively, if your dog struggles to settle at night, then give these tablets a few hours before bed. Whichever time you choose, try to keep it the same each day.

    A:

As your dobermann is 1 year old, we would recommend giving him these tablets on an occasional basis to help reduce his hyper behaviour.

  • 25th January 2012 - Lin
Q: My dog has fits and I was told these would help her. She is on no tablets for it.
    A:

We can not be sure whether this Calming Formula would be beneficial in preventing your dogs fits. I would advise that you consult with your vet, in order to determine if there is an underlying health issue, and to see if these ingredients are safe for your dogs condition.

  • 31st August 2011 - Mario McCafferty
Q: Can my dog be given these on a daily basis, rather than just moments of extreme stress. He is always quite anxious and nervous.
    A:

Our Calming Formula is suitable for both short-term and long-term use, so daily use would be perfectly safe.

    Q:

I have a shituchu. She is 9mths old. I took her for her first grooming and it went badly. She flipped out. Would you recommend these for her?

    A:

For dogs under the age of two years old, we do not recommend these tablets to be taken on a long-term basis. However, they are safe to be taken from time-to-time as and when they are required. Next time you make an appointment, give her a daily tablet in the 2-3 days leading up to the appointment. This way they will have time to take full effect.

    A:

We would certainly recommend this product for your staffy, as it does sound as though she would benefit from it.

Q: I have a 12yr old lakeland terrier and she is a lovely dog but when in her bed she gets really aggressive. Would it be safe to use these tablets on her and would they have a good affect on her.
    A:

Our Calming Formula contains 100% natural ingredients that would be safe for her to take on a daily basis. They should help to reduce any feelings of anxiety and nervousness that are often the cause of aggression.

Q: I have a 3 year jack russell who is very jumpy and is terrified of most things including sudden movement or noises and doesn't mix well with other dogs. Would this help her?

    A:

This product is commonly used for dogs that get overly anxious or excited. However, for dogs under two years old, we recommend that this Calming Formula is used over short-periods of time, rather than everyday. If you are expecting visitors then you may find this to be beneficial.
