Brighten up your day with the ‘Sunshine Herb’

Known as the ‘Sunshine Herb’, St. John’s Wort is widely recognised as an effective treatment for the symptoms of depression including insomnia, sadness, anxiety and exhaustion. Several clinical studies, predominantly carried out in Germany, have confirmed the efficacy of the herb as a natural way of relieving depression, with a number of medical professionals claiming that St John’s Wort can provide superior benefits to some of the new generation prescriptive anti-depressants.

For centuries, herbalists have used St. John’s Wort to treat burns, wounds and ulcers, as well as anxiety related conditions including mental disorders and nerve pain. More recently it has been confirmed that St. John’s Wort can also be used to treat specific types of depression including Seasonal Affective Disorder, which can be triggered by a lack of sunlight and/or vitamin D deficiency throughout the winter months.  In addition, research has found that the herb can provide noticeable benefits in preventing mood swings associated with PMS.

Each of our tablets contain a standardised St John’s Wort extract, providing guaranteed quality and potency of the active ingredients Hypericin and Hyperforin.

I suffer from SAD in the winter months and also anxiety and stress - don't we all, these days? I was fed up taking anti-depressants from the doctor as they did not seem to help very much - in fact at the latter end they seemed to make things worse! I started to take St John's Wort in November 2006 and have noticed that I am much brighter, sleep better and don't seem to suffer from stress and anxiety to the same degree as I did before. I would say that it took 6-8 weeks for this to get to the present level but I was improving slowly during that time. I would recommend this to anyone with similar problems.

I have been taking your formulation of st johns wort for the last 2 years. it has made such a difference. i am happy again! i had depression for about 5 years prior to purchase. but since i am a completely different person and started to enjoy life again. i would definately reccommend this as a safe and natural remedy to pick you up when you are down in the dumps. the simply supplements service is also second to none! after at least 10 orders, i have only had one delay of 2 weeks due to the fact it had sold out. the other 9 times the orders have arrived within 4 days. keep up the good work. adam, newcastle
