These tablets are fab value for money and a fraction of the price I would have to pay on the high street. I would say be prepared to take at least 4 tablets each day for the first couple of weeks, and then reduce to 2-3 tablets a day. I'm keeping a close eye on the number of tablets left in my container so that I am ready to order when they get low.

Q: I have just received my supply of black cohosh, should I take 4 tablets in one go or split it 2 in morn and 2 in evening thank you
A: Where you have to take two or more capsules or tablets of the same preparation, it is a good idea to spread these out over the day in order to maximize absorption and cause less fluctuation in blood levels. We suggest to take two after your breakfast meal and another two after your evening meal.
  • 5th October 2013 - Jenny
Q: How many Black Cohosh 200mg should I take per day?
    A:

We advise to take between 1 and 4 tablets each day, depending on the severity of the symptoms you are experiencing.

  • 28th June 2013 - Diane
Q: I have been taking sage for 6 mths for hot flushes and they completely stopped but have come back, so now take menapol plus which helped a little but started also taking Black cohash and they have seemingly gone but I appear to be very bloated and uncomfortable is this a side effect?
A: Black Cohosh is considered a safe herbal remedy. Everyone reacts differently on supplements, some people do experience certain discomforts including bloatedness or headache. We suggest that you stop taking the Black Cohosh for a few days and see if you feel better. For other serious health concerns you may have, we suggest that you talk to your local GP.
  • 26th April 2013 - mlinda galloway
Q: Can taking black cohosh bring your periods back?
    A:

There is no evidence to confirm that Black Cohosh can help to restart your menstrual cycle.

  • 7th March 2013 - Anne
Q: I have been taking Menapol Plus for about a year now and they worked very well, but now certain symptoms have started coming back. I was recommended Black Cohosh and would like to know how many tablets I should start taking with the two-a-day Menapol Plus please.
    A:

We recommend taking 1-4 tablets of Black Cohosh on  a daily basis, depending on the severity of your symptoms. Menapol Plus does not contain Black Cohosh and so these two products are safe to take together.

  • 1st February 2013 - Mrs S. Archdale
Q: I have just ordered a supply of Black Cohosh and would like to know why it has been labeled "last chance to buy" Does this mean that it will no longer be available to purchase from you in the future?
    A:

Unfortunately, due to new EU legislation, there will come a time when we will no longer be able to sell Black Cohosh. We will of course supply the product for as long as we are able to.

  • 14th January 2013 - Tania Baker
Q: Can you tell me how long they can take to have an effect.
    A:

Supplements can work in different ways for different people, and the length of time they take to work can vary. We generally advise that you take Black Cohosh for at least six weeks in order to achieve the full effects.

  • 15th August 2012 - Susan
Q: I am currently taking menapol plus. Can i also take black cohosh?
    A:

Providing that you do not exceed the recommended dosage for either product, there should be no harm in taking Black Cohosh and Menapol Plus together. If you do have any concerns, we would advise that you consult your GP.

  • 27th April 2012 - Nigel Penfold
Q: How many tablets per bottle? What is the recommended daily dose?
    A:

You will receive two pots of 180 tablets for each order. We advise that you take between 1-4 tablets on a daily basis, depending on the severity of the symptoms.

  • 12th March 2012 - Dawn

Q: My friends told me about Black Cohosh. Is it ok for me to take as I am on beta blockers propranolol?
    A:

As you are taking prescription medication, I would recommend that you consult with your GP or Pharmacist regarding any possible interactions between Black Cohosh and beta blockers.

  • 25th October 2010 - dee
Q: I have tried several herbal supplements, but each time I have had trouble with fluid retention which I do not normally suffer from. Have you had any reports of this?
    A:

We have had no reports of fluid retention from customers taking our Black Cohosh tablets. Nutritional supplements can affect people in different ways. Occasionally it can be a matter of trial and error to find the best product that works for you.

  • 25th February 2009 - Lizzy Jones
Q: Are there any side effects?
    A:

Supplements perform differently from person to person and therefore the extent of side effects may vary. This can be due to a number of individual dynamics ranging from consistency of use to your age, weight and other medication that you may be taking.

Nonetheless, one of the many benefits of natural herbal medicines is the safety parameters and minimal side effects associated with their use.

We must inform you that at Simply Supplements we are not medically trained and therefore we respectfully advise that if you are taking any prescription medication, have a medical condition or you have specific concerns about the suitability of any of our supplements, you should consult your GP or Pharmacist.
