The peppermint is a flowering member of the mint family that grows widely in Europe and Northern America. The medicinal use of peppermint can be traced back all the way to the Roman Empire as a digestive aid and scientists have now identified over forty beneficial compounds within the peppermint leaves, the most active of which are menthol and volatile oils.
Peppermint is popularly used to soothe an upset stomach or aid digestion. It is thought that peppermint may help to calm the muscles that line the stomach and may be beneficial for reflux or spasms, and in recent years peppermint has been studied in the treatment of IBS. As a result, peppermint supplements and tea have become popular after dinner aids.
Our concentrated peppermint oil tablets are produced though an advanced distillation process that preserves the volatile oils during manufacturing. Each high-strength 150mg tablet is based on the strength shown in clinical trials to be friendly for the digestive tract and contains a 100% pure extract from the peppermint plant to support healthy digestion.
