What are Acai Berries?

Grown and harvested in the rainforests of South America, Acai Berries are thought to be one of the world’s most nutritious fruits. Despite their small size, each Acai Berry delivers a powerful number of nutrients, rich in essential fatty acids, amino acids, polyphenols, fibre, vitamins and minerals.

Benefits of the Acai Diet

These cherished berries have long been a secret of Brazilian aboriginal communities, and The Acai Diet is now attracting lots of attention around the world for its potential weight loss benefits. Acai Berries are often recommended to promote healthy skin.

Will these work as well if I sprinkle over porridge rather than swallow whole?

Also it is ok to take them with echinacea? I am on my 2nd cold since September & am looking to build up my immune system & improve general health to try and prevent further colds/coughs this winter. Will acai & echinacea be good for this?

Our Acai Berry extracts are available in EasyGest capsules that have been specifically developed for people who do not like swallowing larger tablets. The 2-piece capsules can be pulled apart so that the powder within can be added to food or drink. These would be perfect sprinkled over your morning porridge.

Acai Berry is perfectly safe to take alongside Echinacea, as long as you keep within the recommended daily dosages for each product.

Q: My 12 year old niece has just been diagnosed with diabetes, is it safe for her to take an acai berry supplement?

To date, there have been no clinical studies to prove that acai berries can support diabetes. If your niece decides to try an acai berry supplement, then I would recommend that she consults with her doctor prior to supplementation and has her blood glucose levels closely monitored.

Q: When is the best time to take these? Before or after breakfast?
Also, i was looking at your slimmex pills for the abdominal area can I take the two together?

Ideally, our Acai Berry capsules should be taken with food to support their digestion. The RDA is 1-2 capsules daily, and many customers find it best taking one capsule with breakfast, and one capsule with lunch. The RDA for Slimmex is also 2 capsules daily. These two products are perfectly safe to take together as long as you don't  take more than 2 of each per day.

Q: Can I take Acai berry along with cider apple?

In general with supplements we do advise that it is not really necessary to take more than one supplement for the same condition, however if you do choose to take them both then this should be fine, providing you do not exceed the RDA of either product. If you have any concerns, we would advise that you consult your GP.

Q: I am currently taking these from Holland and Barratt (Acai Berry Capsules (500mg)) and I have been told to take two tablets with every meal and that is what is on the back of the bottle, I have just ordered these with you how come I am only taking two daily? is this correct?

Unfortunately, we can only advise as to the strength and RDA of our own product as we cannot comment on another company’s product. It may be the difference in strength, or simply the fact that different suppliers are used.

Q: I am new to his product, and looking for digestion purposes as well as helping with weight loss. the intake instructions are not clear to me, what do you suggest, AM or PM before, after or instead of meals.

Q: I have read that the extraction process destroys active ingredients that are preserved in pure powdered freeze-dried berries. Can you advise please?

Frozen açai does not travel well and can lose its antioxidant value during transport.  Our material is a 5:1 extract powder manufactured to GMP standards, produced from wild harvested açai and processed within 24 hours. We use low temperature processing which helps minimise loss of active compounds through oxidative damage that can commonly occur with other drying techniques or at higher temperatures.

Q: are they ok to take with black cohosh tablets? also do I need to stay away from certain foods so they work effectively?

We are not aware of any interactions between Black Cohosh and Acai Berry, so they should be perfectly safe to take together as long as they are taken within the daily dosage guidelines. You do not need to avoid any specific food when taking Acai Berries, however, consuming healthy low-fat foods is the best way to support a weight loss diet.

Q: Am I alright taking these supplements as i am a diabetic

Although there is increasing evidence to show that Acai Berries may support healthy blood glucose levels, this research is currently far from conclusive. If you are considering taking an Acai Berry supplement, I would advise that you consult with your GP first and then closely monitor your blood glucose levels whilst taking this supplement.
