What is Vitamin B Complex?

Vitamin B is unique from other vitamins because it actually consists of eight individual vitamins. Each of the B vitamins plays specific roles in the body and combines to offer a comprehensive supplement for general health and wellbeing. They essentially act coenzymes which assist every cell in the body and promote a healthy nervous system; a complex network of nerves that send signals to and from the brain.

Why take a Vitamin B supplement?

Vitamin B supplements are popularly taken to support healthy brain function, boost energy levels and combat feelings of stress. Many people also find that B vitamins help to lower high homocysteine levels, which are closely linked to heart disease and cognitive decline. Vitamin B tablets can also support women’s health by regulating hormonal activity throughout the month.

GMP Approved Vitamin B tablets

The B vitamins are water-soluble, which means they cannot be stored in the body and a regular daily intake is required. Several factors can deplete the body’s vitamin B levels, such as poor diet, stress, smoking and ageing, and a premium-quality, high strength Vitamin B Complex can help to cover any shortfalls in dietary intake. Each high-strength tablet is manufactured in the UK to strict Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards of quality and has been carefully formulated to provide 100% of the daily Nutrient Reference Value (previously RDA).

Q: Hi, I am taking B12 at the moment, and I am experiencing itching, is this a known side effect? If so, what alternative is there please? ATB Tony
A: As everyone is different, there can be various reported side effects of vitamins and minerals. However, please bear in mind that these are not pharmaceutical medicines and do not have a standard list of side effects like medication does. The active ingredient contained within B12 is cyanocobalamin which can occasionally cause itching, however, this may not be the cause of your own itching. As we are not medically trained, we would suggest that you seek advice from your GP who will be able to advise your further.

    Q: hi,
when researching b vitamin complex I noticed a warning about the b3 vitamin causing facial flushing. as you use an alternative to niacin, I was wondering if that has been a problem with your product.
A: As far as we are aware, we have not had any similar comments made about this product. However, everyone does react differently, therefore what may be suitable for one person, may not be for another. If you require any further assistance, then we advise that you contact your local pharmacist or GP who will be able to assist you further.

Q: I'm interested in taking this Vitamin B Complex due to the many benefits described. However, I already take your 100% RDA Multivitamins which contain some B vitamins. Is it safe to take both of these together? Also, would it be wasteful to take both together, as I would be consuming too much vitamin B to be able use? Thanks.
A: We would not advise to take both of these together, as the B vitamins contained within the multivitamins are 100% of the recommended daily allowance. You may want to consider taking the B vitamins that aren't contained within the multivitamins, in separate tablets. Alternatively, you can check with your local pharmacist or GP if they would be safe for you to take together.

    Q: Hi
If your B complex supplements contain 100% RDA of B vitamins, why does your site recommend also taking B6 along side it? I feel slightly confused.
    Many thanks
A: Rather than a recommendation, the site is just showing what other customers have also bought alongside their Vitamin B Complex. Although our Vitamin B Complex does contain 100% RDA of B Vitamins, some people who are deficient in a certain B Vitamin may wish to, or have been advised by their GP, to take a higher dosage, therefore also needing the extra Vitamin B6 alongside, for example. If you have not been advised to take a higher dosage, the Vitamin B Complex on its own will be sufficient for you.

Q: I have heard vitamin b is good to ward off mosquitoes
I live in Spain and not sure which vitamin b I should buy. Some sites advise b1, b5 or b12. I like the sound of your high strength b5. But was also wondering about the b complex may be better.

    Your help would be appreciated.

A: Vitamin B1, which is also commonly called thiamine, helps improve brain function, helps your body digest food, turns carbohydrates into energy. Although not proven, some people say that taking vitamin B1 can be used to keep bugs like mosquitoes away. We recommend taking our Vitamin B Complex, which consists of eight different vitamins. Numerous clinical studies have shown that there are many benefits to taking higher doses of vitamin B.

Q: I am curently taking a competitors B Complex tablet but considering yours due to price saving. Most of the values of each B vitamin in the competitors tablets are as high as 1000% of RDA. Do you think there are any additional benefit in having such high amounts?

Our Vitamin B Complex provides 100% RDA of all eight essential B vitamins. Unfortunately, we cannot comment on other company's doses and directions on supplements. We can confirm however that our Vitamin B Complex has been carefully formulated to provide 100% RDA in each tablet, manufactured within pharmaceutical grade facilities in the UK, and each premium quality tablet meets the strictest GMP standards at every stage of the manufacturing process. It is also worth noting that higher costs of particular brands don't necessarily mean higher quality .

Q: I am interested in your Vitamen Plus, but I have noticed the reviews for this mention assisting memory loss and beneficial for reducing sugar cravings. The only additions in this is the B7 & B9, is there any point in taking this over/in addition to the Vitamen Plus?

Providing that you are not exceeding the RDA of either product, there should be no harm in taking these products together. Although the Vitamin B Complex contains vitamins B7 and B9, the VitaMen Plus does contain additional nutrients to help to maintain good health.
