Why take Zinc supplements?

Zinc supplements are popularly taken to support the immune system and to defend against colds and flu; when taken at the first sign of symptoms they have been shown to reduce their severity and duration. Zinc also plays a vital role in cell regeneration and collagen production, and so helps to accelerate wound healing and promote healthy hair, skin and nails. As a result, zinc tablets are often taken to treat common skin conditions. This popular mineral also contributes to normal brain function, healthy vision, and male and female fertility and reproduction.

    Q: Hi

I ordered Glutathione skin lightening supplements. Later i read about Glutathione, it said that it can reduce the zinc in the body. Do you think i can take the zinc tablet and Glutathione together? Would it cause any damage?

Unfortunately we cannot comment on interactions with supplements that we do not supply. As with all supplements there are many studies that may contradict one another. As with any deficiency we would advise you speak to a pharmacist or GP.

Q: Is it okay to take zinc and high strength omega 3 together please
A: Both supplements are safe to take together. Fish oils naturally contain Zinc but not enough to be beneficial. However, we advice that you stick to the recommended daily dose which is 1 per day when taking Zinc alongside other supplements. Too much Zinc may decrease your immune function. Other products you may want to pair fish oils with for a healthier immune system are Immunoboost with Garlic or VitaFem Plus.
