Sea Kelp is a nourishing seaweed that contains high concentrations of vitamins and minerals. It is particularly rich in iodine, which supports healthy thyroid function and regulates the production of thyroid hormones. Alongside iodine, sea kelp provides beneficial levels of iron, magnesium and potassium, which combine to support a strong immune system, healthy cognitive function and improved energy levels. In addition, these nutrients also promote healthy hair, skin and nails.
The thyroid gland produces hormones that control the body’s metabolic rate - the rate at which the body burns energy to fuel body functions. If too many or too few of these hormones are produced, the body’s systems become disrupted and can result in weight gain, fatigue or low mood. Iodine helps to regulate the production of thyroid hormones and maintains a healthy balance.
Not all kelp supplements are the same. Sea kelp requires nutrient-rich waters in which to grow, and so the nutritional content varies depending on the conditions in which it is grown. At Simply Supplements, we ensure that all our kelp extracts are sourced from the highest quality GMP approved raw materials and are manufactured in the UK. Our premium-quality EasyGest capsules can be pulled apart and added to food or drink - many customers sprinkle the powder into their morning smoothies.

|A:||Please accept our sincere apologies, but we can confirm that the Kelp capsules are vegetarian friendly. Unfortunately the ingredients list had not been updated correctly when the product was recently changed. The website has now been updated to reflect. We apologise for any confusion this may have caused.|
|Q:||I have an under active thyroid & am taking levothyroxine. Can I take your marine collagen safely.

|Q:||Hiya, i take Menopace Plus daily as a supplement for starting to go through the change, obviously that consists of lots of different vitamins etc, is it ok to take this high strength of 1000mg per tablet alongside this pls.

|Q:||Ive exceeded my daily dose of sea kelp tablet I took 2 more than stated is this safe as worried.|
|A:||Studies have shown that taking too much kelp may cause your thyroid gland to produce too much or not enough of this hormone. High thyroid hormone levels may cause sudden weight loss, while low levels of thyroid hormone may result in unusual weight gain. When taking kelp or any other supplements for that matter, always follow the recommended daily dose as stated on the label. If you feel unwell after taking more than the recommended number of pills, please seek additional care from your GP.|
|Q:||Would sea kelp tablets be suitable for a 15kg dog?|
|A:||Our Sea Kelp is specifically designed for human consumption although some of our customers do give it to their pets because it maintains their health as well as revitalize them. Please remember though that pets' stomach can be quite sensitive so we advise to confirm with your Vet first before giving our Sea Kelp to your pet.|
|Q:||Ive read that brown seaweed extract helps rid the body of mercury, does kelp do the same thing? Thanks|
|A:||Officially, kelp is considered a brown seaweed, despite its variance between browns, reddish-greens, and purplish-brown. Kelp is known primarily as good source of iodine to improve production of thyroid hormones. However, research has it that kelp also acts a chelating agent, to remove heavy metal toxins from the intestines.|

|A:||Iodine is naturally found in Kelp which is sourced from seaweed. Unfortunately, we do not measure natural contents or ingredients of our products as it is difficult to do so however research has it that Seaweed naturally contains 33% of Iodine. You may want to try other vitamins and supplements that may help grow and strengthen hair like vitamin C, omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, amino acids, B vitamins, vitamin A, and vitamin E.|

Providing that you do not exceed the recommended daily dosages of either product there should be no problem taking Sea Kelp and Collagen in combination. We would advise that you take 3 capsules of Marine Collagen 500mg and 1 capsules of Sea Kelp 600mg on a daily basis.
|Q:||i am on iron tablets can i still take these|
With regards to taking different supplements together, one on the many benefits of natural herbal medicines is the safety parameters when mixing several vitamins, minerals and nutrients. Nonetheless, whilst a majority of combinations are safe, we would advise that you consult your GP or Pharmacist with any specific instances, particularly in relation to a medical condition as the potency of herbs when mixing does differ.
